Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing client on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements, supporting both UK and India operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality assessments and audits of existing and new suppliers.
• Review and approve supplier documentation such as PPAPs, FMEAs, control plans, ITP and APQP.
• Inspect incoming materials and perform testing to verify specifications.
• Work with suppliers to resolve non‑conformances and develop corrective action plans (CAPA).
• Coordinate witness activities, product verification at supplier sites, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain records, generate performance reports and manage a vendor rating system.
• Support Lean and Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and costs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• HNC or higher in Engineering, Quality Management or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites in the UK and internationally.
