Supply English Teacher – Flexible Days in Chester

About the role

We are looking for secondary English supply teachers to work across schools in Chester and the surrounding North Wales border. The role offers flexible, day‑to‑day cover or longer‑term placements, allowing you to choose when and where you teach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, using provided lesson plans.
• Foster a love of reading, writing and critical thinking while maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Follow each school’s behaviour policies and keep students on track with their work.
• Provide brief, helpful handovers for the regular English teacher at the end of each day.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is a bonus).
• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• A genuine passion for inspiring young minds through language and literature.
