Supply KS1 Teacher - Leeds - September Start

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work on supply assignments in primary schools across Leeds starting September 2026. This temporary position allows you to gain classroom experience in Year 1 and Year 2 while maintaining control over your schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily lessons to Key Stage 1 pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms.
• Implement systematic synthetic phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle.
• Support pupils transitioning from EYFS to structured curriculum.
• Collaborate with school staff and follow safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Recent experience teaching or completing placements in a UK Year 1 or Year 2 setting.
• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or on track to achieve it before September 2026.
• Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and strong professional references.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the UK Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
• Proficiency in delivering systematic synthetic phonics (Read Write Inc., Little Wandle).
