Supply SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Temporary Role

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic, caring Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across schools in the Crawley and Horsham area. This flexible, temporary position offers the chance to make a real difference while enjoying the variety that supply work provides.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support small groups to build confidence, reinforce learning and promote independence.
• Encourage resilience, social development and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Maintain clear, accurate records of progress and share updates with staff and families.

Required profile

• Experience supporting students with special educational needs, or a strong desire to learn.
• Relevant qualification in education or SEND, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills with a calm, compassionate approach.
• Patience, positivity and a genuine passion for helping children grow.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
