Supply Teacher – Flexible Primary School Roles in Essex

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified and enthusiastic supply teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) and experienced Cover Supervisors to support primary schools across Thurrock and surrounding areas. This flexible opportunity allows you to work day‑by‑day, on short‑term assignments or longer placements, fitting around your personal schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and maintain high‑quality learning outcomes.
• Provide classroom cover in the absence of the regular class teacher.
• Lead learning using pre‑planned resources or your own professional expertise where appropriate.
• Support pupils across a range of year groups, adapting approaches to meet diverse needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of learning.
• Provide clear feedback to support pupil progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Primary Teachers (QTS) or Early Career Teachers.
• Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) or experienced Cover Supervisors.
• Unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience are also welcome.
• Commitment to flexible, rewarding work in local primary schools.
