Supply Teacher – Year 4 (Primary) – Canterbury

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with several primary schools in Canterbury to recruit enthusiastic Year 4 teachers. The role can be taken on a long‑term supply basis or as a permanent position, starting immediately. You will support pupils through Key Stage 2, helping them build confidence, academic skills and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Year 4 classes.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and wellbeing.
• Assess pupil progress and provide targeted feedback.
• Manage behaviour effectively and maintain high standards of conduct.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and leadership teams to support each child’s development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS.
• Experience teaching in primary education, preferably Key Stage 2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to pupil achievement and wellbeing.

Required skills

• Curriculum planning for Key Stage 2.
• Effective lesson delivery techniques.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
