Supply Teaching Assistant – SEND Primary (Leeds)

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to support SEND pupils in mainstream primary schools across Leeds. This flexible, temporary position allows you to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the freedom to choose your assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays.
• Adapt learning materials and use visual timetables, PECS, or basic Makaton to facilitate curriculum access.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate support seamlessly into daily lessons.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure a safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a UK primary school.
• Proven hands‑on experience supporting primary‑aged children with SEND.
• Ability to adapt communication tools and materials to meet individual needs.
• Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through Randstad).
• Patient, nurturing attitude with strong emotional resilience.
