Supply Year 1 Teacher – Tonbridge

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with primary schools in Tonbridge to recruit enthusiastic Year 1 teachers on a supply basis. The role supports pupils as they move from Reception into Key Stage 1, delivering engaging lessons that build confidence, independence and foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, age‑appropriate lessons for Year 1 classes.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour and promote good conduct.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to pupil progress and development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
