About the role
Hays Education is partnering with primary schools in Dover to recruit enthusiastic Year 6 teachers on a supply basis. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils through the transition to secondary school, and fostering confidence, resilience and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver challenging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Upper Key Stage 2.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing targeted feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes motivation and good behaviour.
- Collaborate with senior staff, parents and colleagues to support pupils’ academic and personal development.
- Prepare students for the move to secondary education, focusing on key skills and confidence building.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Upper KS2.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
- Commitment to supporting pupils both academically and personally.
- Professionalism, enthusiasm and a passion for helping children succeed.
Required skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – formal teaching qualification.
