Support Advice Worker - Domestic Abuse

About the role

The Essex Domestic Abuse Innovation Partnership is launching a new service called “Supporting you to Support them”. As a Support Advice Worker you will provide advice, guidance and coaching to friends and family of people experiencing domestic abuse, helping them access support earlier.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advice and support via phone, virtual meetings and online web‑chat.
• Develop and share resources to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
• Conduct outreach with community groups to reach seldom‑heard populations.
• Facilitate and develop peer‑support networks during the first year of the programme.
• Travel across Essex, Thurrock and Southend to deliver in‑person sessions as required.
• Provide occasional out‑of‑hours support on an agreed schedule.

Required profile

• Warm, friendly and highly organised.
• Excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience in domestic abuse services or safeguarding is advantageous.
• Ability to travel within the designated area and flexibility for occasional out‑of‑hours work.

• Full‑time 37‑hour hybrid role (office and travel).
