Support Medical Secretary – Acute Service

About the role
The Support Medical Secretary provides essential administrative and secretarial assistance within the Acute Service, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations for clinical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality secretarial support to medical staff, including handling correspondence and managing schedules.
- Maintain accurate records, file documents, and process routine paperwork in line with NHS standards.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and data entry, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Respond to internal enquiries promptly and liaise with other departments as required.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Flexible, motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Competent audio typing.
- Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with medical terminology (advantageous).
