Support Worker – Adult Learning Disabilities

About the role
We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to join Oakley Hill’s team in Newbury, helping adults with learning disabilities live independently and enjoy active community lives. The role offers varied daily tasks, meaningful relationships and the chance to make a real difference.
Key responsibilities
- Assist individuals with everyday living activities such as shopping, cooking and household tasks.
- Encourage independence, confidence and personal goal achievement.
- Plan and coordinate recreational outings, including cinema, theme parks and community events.
- Support access to appointments, social events and community activities.
- Provide personal care when required, always promoting dignity and choice.
- Maintain accurate records and follow individual support plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.
Required profile
- Caring, patient and compassionate.
- Reliable, trustworthy and flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Positive attitude, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- Good communication skills with a friendly approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous care or support experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence advantageous.
