Support Worker – Bank Positions

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Support Workers to join our bank of staff in Chard, helping individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs live as independently as possible. You will deliver person‑centred care in supported living settings, encouraging community participation and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage individuals to take active roles in their community and promote independence.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, budgeting and routine planning.
• Communicate using each person’s preferred methods and support positive behavioural approaches.
• Motivate and engage service users to enhance their quality of life.
• Maintain accurate records and report any changes in health or circumstances to management.
• Work collaboratively within a team while also using your own initiative.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• Positive, proactive attitude with strong people skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to cover bank shifts on a part‑time basis.
