Support Worker – Children & Young People (Full/Part Time)

About the role

MedGen Healthcare is looking for compassionate Support Workers to help children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will provide emotional reassurance, assist with daily living tasks, and create a safe, structured environment for individuals with autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Offer consistent emotional support to children experiencing anxiety or distress.
• Assist with routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities for autism and ADHD.
• Support daily living activities such as personal care, meals, and hygiene.
• Implement behaviour support plans and positive strategies.
• De‑escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques when required.
• Maintain accurate records of care and incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Support Worker.
• Experience with autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
• Current PMVA training (or willingness to complete).
• Strong communication, safeguarding knowledge, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
