Support Worker – Children & Young People

About the role

Paragon Social Care is seeking compassionate Support Workers to provide 24/7 wrap‑around care for children and young people in local authority care. You will help create safe, nurturing environments and support young people as they transition to the next stage of their lives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver trauma‑informed, compassionate care and establish daily routines.
• Build trusting relationships and advocate for the voices of young people.
• Support education, life‑skills development and independence.
• Prepare nutritious meals and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Assist with medical appointments, community activities and transport using your own vehicle.
• Encourage confidence, resilience and a positive outlook for the future.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary).
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
• Patience, empathy and emotional resilience.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• Clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (desirable).
