Support Worker – Children’s Home (3 positions)

About the role

This role supports young people living in a children’s home in Wokingham, helping them develop independence and life‑skills. It is suitable for candidates who already have experience working in a children’s home environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver keywork sessions and attend meetings with young people.
• Ensure staff training is up to date and promote social inclusion.
• Write accurate, factual daily reports.
• Teach life‑skills and encourage participation in activities.
• Promote privacy, dignity and independence for residents.
• Maintain a clean, healthy environment and implement health and safety procedures.
• Carry out daily safety checks, fire door inspections, fire drills and weekly alarm tests.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a children’s home or similar residential setting.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written communication for daily reporting.
• Commitment to promoting independence, privacy and dignity.
• Awareness of health and safety and safeguarding protocols.
