Support Worker – Community Based (Dorchester)

About the role

Join Agincare’s Dorset Outreach team to provide one‑to‑one community‑based support for a young adult living just outside Dorchester. You will help them access meaningful activities, develop confidence, and maintain independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany the individual to community activities, clubs, appointments and volunteering roles.
• Provide personal care, dressing, toileting and support with daily living tasks as required.
• Prepare safe, nutritious meals in line with dietary needs.
• Follow detailed routines and care plans consistently.
• Build a trusting, reassuring relationship through regular, upbeat interaction.

Required profile

• Calm, patient and observant approach.
• Ability to follow clear routines and care plans.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with family and colleagues.
• Full, clear driving licence preferred (own car essential for travel).
• Experience with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential – full training provided.
