Support Worker – Community Services

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Riverside Group in Lewisham. You will work directly with vulnerable customers, helping them access services, manage finances and move towards stable housing.

Key responsibilities

• Connect customers with employability coaches, benefits advisors and other support agencies.
• Assist clients in budgeting, benefit applications and tenancy arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and support provided.
• Provide emotional encouragement and confidence‑building support throughout the client’s journey.
• Work flexibly, including occasional weekends and lone‑working situations.

Required profile

• Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged people.
• Background in delivering structured support and managing risk.
• Empathetic, resilient and able to maintain professional boundaries.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and on a rolling rota.
• Understanding of homelessness, addiction or related challenges, possibly through lived experience.

Required skills

• Record‑keeping and basic administrative abilities.
