Support Worker – Community Support & Holiday Service

About the role

As a Support Worker in Crossreach’s Community Support and Holiday Service, you will help adults with learning disabilities live more independent, fulfilling lives. You will be involved in everyday activities, from supporting employment aspirations to accompanying individuals on holidays, always encouraging participation in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Support individuals to achieve greater independence and personal goals.
• Encourage participation in community life, meaningful activities and social events.
• Assist people in accessing employment, volunteering, education and leisure opportunities.
• Promote health and wellbeing through active lifestyles and personal care when needed.
• Maintain accurate records using digital systems and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Build trusted relationships with service users, families and partner organisations.
• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred support in line with SSSC standards.

Required profile

• Compassionate, dependable and motivated to help people achieve independence.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to obtain or hold an SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.
• Experience in social care is beneficial but not essential.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills for using digital record‑keeping systems.
