Support Worker – Days & Waking Nights

About the role

As a Support Worker you will work directly with people in their homes and the community, helping them to live the lives they desire. You will support individuals with a range of needs, promoting choice, independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with people you support and their families.
• Promote choice and participation in daily tasks.
• Co‑create opportunities for new experiences and provide information to aid decision‑making.
• Provide personalised support that builds confidence and helps overcome obstacles.
• Encourage participation in activities that bring joy and meaning.

Required profile

• Ability to support people who may challenge verbally or physically, especially on the autistic spectrum.
• Calm and confident in challenging situations.
• Experience in Positive Behaviour Support.
• Experience enabling people with learning disabilities or autism to take positive risks.
• Valid manual driving licence and ability to drive a 7‑seater van.
• Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda.
