Support Worker – Island Placements (Urgent Start)

About the role

We are urgently seeking experienced Support Workers for three‑month placements in care homes across Scotland’s islands and coastal regions. The position offers competitive hourly pay and the chance to live and work in scenic, close‑knit island communities while delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct, person‑centred care and support to older adults in line with individual care plans.
• Assist residents with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing and mobility.
• Safely administer prescribed medication and monitor residents’ health and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment, perform moving and handling duties, and undertake lone‑working tasks when required.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year experience supporting older adults in a care setting, preferably in a care home.
• Core competencies in personal care, safe moving and handling, and medication administration.
• Willingness to relocate or travel to island locations; a driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.
