Support Worker

About the role

Southdown is looking for a compassionate Support Worker to help adults with learning and physical disabilities live full, happy lives in Brighton. You will work in a supported living setting, providing daily assistance and encouraging community participation.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients with everyday tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and personal care.
• Facilitate community outings – beach walks, cinema visits, shopping trips, and café stops.
• Promote independence and confidence through empowering care.
• Assist with any additional activities within the service to enhance wellbeing.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to work varied shifts, including unsociable hours.
• Previous experience in care or support roles is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided.

• Hourly rate of £13.82 for a 37‑hour week.
• Unsociable hours uplift (£4.51 per shift) and sleep‑in allowances (£61 per shift).
