Support Worker

About the role

Thera North is looking for a compassionate Support Worker to join its permanent, part‑time team in Ulverston, Cumbria. You will work with adults who have a learning disability, using a person‑centred approach to help them achieve their personal goals and live the lives they choose.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily personal and emotional support tailored to each individual.
• Assist with developing new skills, managing home life, and planning leisure or employment activities.
• Support individuals in the community, including travel and outings.
• Adapt support strategies to meet the unique needs of each person.

Required profile

• No prior experience or qualifications required – full training will be provided.
• Comfortable with lone working and supporting people with mental health needs.
• Compassionate, caring, confident and self‑motivated.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to embrace the organisation’s values, learn quickly and have fun.
