About the role
Turning Point is looking for a motivated Support Worker to join its Supported Living service in Carlisle. You will help adults with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour live as independently as possible, using a person‑centred approach.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
- Support individuals in community outings, shopping, budgeting and cooking.
- Encourage independence and help people make positive choices.
- Record support activities accurately using a digital social‑care record system.
- Work flexible shift patterns, including nights and occasional weekends, to ensure 24‑hour coverage.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and review individual support plans.
Required profile
- Genuine passion for supporting people with autism, learning disabilities or challenging behaviour.
- Positive, creative, problem‑solving attitude.
- Ability to work flexibly across a range of shifts.
- Commitment to person‑centred practice and continuous learning.
