Support Worker – Learning Disabilities (Essex)

About the role

Certitude is looking for dedicated Support Workers to deliver person‑centred care for individuals with learning disabilities across several locations in Essex. You will help maximise independence and community participation for people with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
• Use recovery‑oriented and person‑centred planning tools to develop support plans.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records and documentation.
• Assist with personal care, manual handling and everyday tasks.
• Collaborate consistently with local managers and team members to ensure high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Experience supporting individuals who may challenge verbally or physically, especially on the autistic spectrum.
• Ability to stay calm and confident in challenging situations.
• Background in Positive Behaviour Support and enabling positive risk.
• Possess a manual driving licence and be able to drive a 7‑seat van.
• Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda.
• Willingness to undertake training, development and coaching.
