Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Service

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Learning Disabilities Service in Tower Hamlets. This part‑time position offers 24 hours per week at an annual salary of £18,470.40, supporting individuals to develop independent living skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored support to enable customers to build independent living skills.
• Provide personal and physical care when required, based on individual needs.
• Offer practical assistance to customers who have not yet developed necessary skills.
• Participate in support planning, risk management and documentation.
• Facilitate access to community facilities, leisure and learning opportunities such as gyms, swimming pools and public amenities.

Required profile

• Warm, friendly presence with an open attitude.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Calm and resilient, able to manage emotions effectively.

Required skills

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism, or a clear understanding of their needs.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support plans (desirable).
