Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Service

About the role

Join Glenholme Healthcare as a Support Worker in our Learning Disabilities Service. You will provide compassionate companionship and personal care to adults with learning disabilities, helping them live independently and enjoy community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Offer one‑to‑one companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with personal care tasks and daily living activities.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Manage medication safely according to care plans.
• Organise and accompany residents on community‑based outings such as swimming, social events and leisure activities.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and aged 21 years or older (insurance requirement).
• Positive attitude, empathy and a good sense of humour.
• Willingness to complete paid training and obtain care‑related qualifications.

Required skills

What we offer

• Hourly rate £11.75 – £12.05, with increases after certification.
• Paid training and a £200 compensation for completing e‑learning before start.
• 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) plus birthday and service‑based extra days.
