Support Worker – Part‑time (Barrow‑in‑Furness)

About the role

We are seeking a warm, caring Support Worker to join our Extra Care team in Barrow‑in‑Furness. You will help 31 residents, aged 55 and over, live fulfilling lives in a vibrant community of self‑contained flats.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consistent, respectful personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing and toileting.
• Administer medication and support residents with prompting and record‑keeping.
• Carry out manual handling tasks such as hoisting and safe transfers.
• Assist with domestic duties, including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Encourage and support participation in social activities both on‑site and off‑site, such as movie nights, gardening, day trips and outings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated passion for person‑centred care of older adults.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
• Previous experience in a care setting, preferably with dementia, learning or physical disabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly within a part‑time schedule.
