Support Worker – Veterans (Complex Needs)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join a dedicated team that assists veterans and individuals at risk of homelessness. The role focuses on helping people with complex needs achieve greater independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a small caseload of 5–8 customers, delivering person‑centred support.
• Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
• Assist clients with mental health, substance misuse and housing challenges.
• Collaborate with external agencies, landlords, healthcare professionals and support services.
• Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for each individual.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes.

Required profile

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
• Confidence handling challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT proficiency.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills for record‑keeping and communication.

What we offer

• £15.34 per hour, 30 hours per week.
• Fixed‑term contract for three months (until October 2026).
• Monday‑Friday schedule with one Saturday every six weeks.
