Supported Housing Worker

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Supported Housing Worker to join our client’s team in Preston and the wider Lancashire area. The role involves providing practical, emotional and social support to young people as they move towards independence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients, addressing emotional, physical and social needs.
• Plan and deliver group sessions and activities within the accommodation to promote personal development and social engagement.
• Ensure client safety by following safeguarding and emergency procedures.
• Lead risk and needs assessments and develop SMART, outcomes‑based support plans.
• Carry out cleaning and domestic duties within the hostel environment.
• Support clients in accessing education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.
• Maintain health and safety standards, conduct regular checks and report issues.
• Prepare accommodation for new arrivals and send daily occupancy lists to the council.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
