Supported Internship Tutor & Job Coach

About the role
The Supported Internship Tutor and Job Coach will guide interns with disabilities through a Supported Internship programme, helping them achieve an accredited Employability award and transition into paid employment. The role involves one‑to‑one tuition, support for business partners and families, and preparation of interns for job opportunities both within and outside the host employer.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direction and organisation to the on‑site learning programme.
- Recruit suitable students with disabilities and conduct education assessments.
- Plan and deliver daily classroom activities and lesson plans (including virtual sessions) to achieve the Progression Award and support Functional Skills (Entry Level 3 – Level 2).
- Deliver remote literacy and numeracy support.
- Assist interns in developing portfolios, accreditation evidence, and recommendation letters.
- Assess student skills and oversee their emotional and social welfare.
- Collaborate with local authorities, businesses, and stakeholders, attending reviews and meetings as required.
- Develop Individual Education Plans, transition plans, and career plans based on each intern’s preferences and abilities.
- Attend host business inductions and work with job coaches to design suitable internship sites and job modifications.
- Engage with parents, local authorities, and other stakeholders to support intern progression.
- Provide job coaching when needed.
Required profile
- Proven track record supporting young people with SEND.
- Experience delivering group learning and one‑to‑one coaching.
- Experience developing learning plans and tracking progress.
- Strong IT, administration, and organisational skills.
- NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Careers Education, Youth Work, or Social Care (or working towards).
- Flexible, positive, solutions‑focused approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to equality and inclusion.
- Experience in the employment and skills sector.

What we offer
- Competitive salary between £26,288 and £32,083 per year.
