Surfacing Operatives – Multiple Roles in Scotland

About the role

Breedon Group plc is seeking four reliable Surfacing Operatives to join its central‑east Scotland team. The roles involve hands‑on work on road surfacing and highway maintenance projects across Falkirk, Edinburgh, Fife and Tayside, with night‑shift duties as required.

Key responsibilities

• Follow instructions from the foreperson and carry out assigned tasks safely.
• Maintain and operate plant and equipment in accordance with design specifications.
• Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is kept in good condition.
• Support less experienced team members and uphold professional standards.
• Report accidents, incidents, near‑misses and any safety concerns.
• Deliver work that meets the quality requirements of project specifications.

Required profile

• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Commitment to health, safety and procedural compliance.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and travel between sites.

Required skills

• CSCS card (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
• Previous experience in surfacing, construction, highways or a similar environment (desirable).
