Syndicate Financial Controller – Lloyd's Insurance

About the role

This senior finance position sits within a high‑performing team of an international insurer operating in the Lloyd's market. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will own the full financial reporting and control framework for a Lloyd's syndicate while shaping processes, controls and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end financial reporting for a Lloyd's syndicate, including statutory statements and US GAAP reporting.
• Deliver Lloyd's, regulatory and Corporate Member reporting.
• Develop and maintain a robust financial control framework, including SOX controls.
• Analyse performance and provide commentary for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Partner with underwriting, actuarial, tax, risk and wider finance teams.
• Manage relationships with auditors, regulators and outsourced service providers.
• Support finance transformation, system improvements and process automation.
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and governance.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant experience within the Lloyd's insurance market.
• Deep understanding of Lloyd's regulatory reporting and syndicate accounting.
• Proven experience producing statutory financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (or significant exposure alongside UK GAAP/IFRS).
• Demonstrated financial controls and governance expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management across finance and the business.
• Experience working with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
