System Administrator & Cloud Engineer

About the role

H2 Software Ltd is looking for a System Administrator / Cloud Engineer to manage and maintain its IT systems, cloud infrastructure and end‑user computing environment. You will support the company’s higher‑education software products and work primarily remotely, attending fortnightly meetings in Central London.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including email, user accounts and security settings.
• Oversee Apple Business Manager and the mobile device management (MDM) platform.
• Provision, configure and maintain laptops and other end‑user devices.
• Monitor system availability, security and performance.
• Handle software updates, security patching and routine maintenance.
• Manage backup and recovery procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation and IT asset records.
• Ensure compliance with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials frameworks.
• Provide regular reports on IT infrastructure status, performance and security.

Required profile

• Experience in a system administration or IT support role.
• Experience administering AWS cloud services.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with Apple Business Manager and MDM solutions (desirable).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

What we offer

• Salary £29,000–£34,000 per annum, with regular performance‑based reviews.
