System Administrator Intern

About the role

HP Wolf Security is seeking a motivated System Administrator Intern for a 12‑month placement. You will support and enhance the Windows‑based infrastructure that powers our endpoint security products, working closely with engineering and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python and PowerShell.
• Configure, maintain, and optimise Windows engineering environments.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain development, test, and build environments.
• Contribute to projects that improve reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues alongside software engineers.
• Assist with system monitoring, reporting, and operational tooling.
• Support identity and access management activities across engineering platforms.
• Document processes and help define best‑practice operational procedures.

Required profile

• 2nd year, final year or master’s student in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT, Engineering or related STEM field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in infrastructure automation, systems engineering and cyber security.

Required skills

• Fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory)
• Version control systems (Git)
