Systems Administrator / Support Engineer

About the role

Profile 29 is seeking a Systems Administrator / Support Engineer to join its small, friendly team in Sidmouth. You will deliver high‑quality, multi‑level IT support to a range of small and medium‑size business customers while contributing to infrastructure improvements and equipment commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first, second and third‑line support for desktop, workstation and server environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint and related policies.
• Maintain Windows Server and Windows OS platforms, including RDS and IIS services.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, RAID, routers and firewalls.
• Assist with backup solutions, virtualization (VMs, VPS) and related technologies.
• Document incidents, resolutions and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service focus with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small onsite team.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship now or in the future.

Required skills

• Windows OS and Windows Server administration.
• Microsoft 365 and Azure AD management.
• Microsoft Exchange, IIS, RDS and SharePoint.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, RAID, router/firewall configuration.
• Backup technologies, SQL, Citrix, VEEAM, Acronis, virtualization (VMs, VPS).

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time position (Monday‑Friday) based onsite in Sidmouth.
• Competitive salary between £27,000 and £30,000 per year.
