Systems Engineer – Defence & Security

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a critical MOD programme that underpins the United Kingdom’s national security. The role is based in the West Midlands and will be performed remotely, working primarily in a Windows environment with subsystems covering radio, video and network interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering best practices across the full product lifecycle.
• Manage and maintain critical Microsoft server systems, including AD, DNS and DHCP.
• Implement virtualization technologies and oversee server patching from development to production.
• Monitor system health, performance and security, providing real‑time issue resolution.
• Perform backup, restore and recovery operations.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers to deliver project milestones.

Required profile

• Current DV clearance or ability to obtain it.
• Proven experience in server administration and Microsoft server environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on reliability and security.
• Experience working within an MBSE (Model‑Based Systems Engineering) framework is advantageous.
