Talent Coordinator – Artist Management & Scheduling

About the role

Industrial Light & Magic is seeking a people‑focused leader to manage and develop its artist talent across designated departments. The Talent Coordinator will act as a strategic bridge between studio production needs and artist career growth, ensuring effective crewing, capacity planning, and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day operational support for a portfolio of artists.
• Manage artist crewing and scheduling for assigned departments.
• Partner with Heads of Department on casting, career development, performance reviews and departmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Senior Studio Production Manager to anticipate capacity changes and upcoming work.
• Define and communicate hiring requirements with Production, Supervisors, HoDs and Recruiters.
• Engage with show leadership to understand project milestones, crewing needs and flag potential challenges.
• Facilitate annual performance review processes.
• Work with HR Business Partner on employee engagement, compensation and relations.
• Coordinate training plans with the Training team for show and departmental development.

Required profile

• Experience in scheduling or crewing within the VFX or related production environment.
• Proven people‑management and team‑leadership abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
• Strong collaboration and relationship‑building across the business.
• High emotional intelligence for handling complex situations with tact.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving with a commercial mindset.
• Proactive attitude, quick issue identification and escalation.
• Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize stakeholder support.
