Tax Assistant – Compliance Role in Glasgow

About the role

We are partnering with an established independent accountancy firm in Glasgow to hire a Tax Assistant. This office‑based position offers solid exposure to a diverse client portfolio and the chance to develop your tax compliance expertise in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare personal tax returns, including self‑assessment, partnerships and trusts where applicable.
• Prepare corporate tax returns for a range of businesses.
• Liaise with HMRC and respond to routine queries.
• Collaborate closely with senior team members to meet filing deadlines.
• Maintain accurate client records and files.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 months experience in a tax‑focused role within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns, or strong desire to work across both areas.
• Studying or planning to study towards a relevant tax qualification (ATT, CTA).
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical work approach.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
