Tax Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Assistant to join our client’s team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role offers a supportive environment where you will develop your tax knowledge while delivering high‑quality compliance work. You will work closely with senior tax advisers and a range of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit personal and partnership tax returns.
• Assist with corporate tax compliance tasks.
• Support tax advisory projects and research assignments.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with tax legislation and deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Client‑focused approach with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel
• Xero (desirable)
