Tax Consultant – Advisory for Business & Private Clients

About the role

Join a progressive, client‑focused accountancy practice in Bristol as a Tax Consultant. You will work with entrepreneurs, private individuals, family‑owned businesses and growing companies across a wide range of sectors, delivering tax advice that adds real value.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tax affairs for a portfolio of business and private clients.
• Support company directors and owners with tax‑efficient remuneration planning.
• Prepare and review complex tax submissions and disclosures.
• Assist clients with acquisitions, disposals and restructuring projects.
• Handle correspondence and negotiations with HMRC.
• Collaborate with the accounts team to identify tax planning opportunities.
• Conduct technical research and produce client recommendations.
• Coach and train junior members of the tax department.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changing tax legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified (ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA) or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in an accountancy practice or tax consultancy.
• Solid understanding of UK taxation principles.
• Proven experience managing client relationships.
• Ability to interpret technical tax matters and communicate them clearly.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive client‑service approach.
