Tax Lead – European Region

About the role

The Tax Lead for the European region will act as a strategic partner to the business, driving tax planning, risk management, compliance and digital transformation across multiple jurisdictions. This role supports sustainable growth and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with evolving European tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax‑efficient structures for domestic and cross‑border transactions, ensuring alignment with the company’s operating and commercial models.
• Review contractual tax clauses and manage interactions with tax authorities, including audits, inquiries and dispute‑resolution processes.
• Monitor European tax policy developments (OECD, BEPS, Pillar 2, VAT reforms) and drive timely implementation of regulatory changes.
• Lead digital transformation of tax processes, automating filings, compliance workflows and reporting, and create data‑monitoring dashboards and SOPs.
• Coordinate with domestic and international teams on VAT/GST filings, refund applications and cross‑border regulatory alignment, overseeing external advisors.
• Deliver internal tax training, knowledge‑sharing workshops and support strategic tax projects such as M&A, restructuring and supply‑chain redesign.

Required profile

• Strong technical tax expertise with experience in tax planning, transfer pricing and risk mitigation.
• Proven ability to collaborate across borders and influence senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Experience managing tax audits, disputes and relationships with tax authorities.
