Tax Manager / Senior Manager – Corporate & Private Tax

About the role

Join one of the North’s leading chartered accountant firms as a Tax Manager or Senior Manager in Newcastle. You will work with large corporate, SME, private client and entrepreneurial portfolios, delivering high‑quality tax advisory and compliance services across a range of specialisms.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client relationships, act as a trusted adviser and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Lead advisory projects, oversee implementation of tax strategies and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to provide integrated solutions.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff, delegating work and providing feedback.
• Oversee preparation and review of tax returns and submissions.
• Handle written and oral correspondence with HMRC, resolving technical matters.
• Contribute to business development, proposals and thought leadership.
• Manage budgets, billing and work‑in‑progress to maintain profitability.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Tax Manager in practice or industry, preferably with large or complex clients.
• Professional qualification (CA and/or CTA) or working towards it.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Clear communicator with proactive attitude.
