Tax Senior

About the role

We are supporting a growing accountancy and advisory firm in Wilmslow that is looking for a Tax Senior to join its client‑focused team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of private clients while contributing to broader tax advisory work across the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, business owners and directors.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns, supporting junior team members as needed.
• Provide advice on capital gains tax, VAT, corporation tax and other tax matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Meet prospective clients to understand their needs and propose appropriate tax solutions.
• Liaise directly with HMRC, handling correspondence and resolving queries efficiently.
• Support senior managers and directors on tax advisory and planning projects.

Required profile

• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Broad exposure to personal tax and general tax compliance.
• ATT qualified, CTA part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented with strong technical capability.
• Confidence in client‑facing advisory work.

Required skills

• Familiarity with IRIS tax software (desirable).
