Tax Senior Manager

About the role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a respected Chartered Accountancy firm in Newbury that is looking for an experienced Tax Senior Manager. The role blends personal and corporate tax advisory work with compliance oversight, client relationship management and team development. You will work closely with partners and senior stakeholders, influencing both client outcomes and the firm’s tax strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review personal and corporate tax compliance work.
• Advise clients on a wide range of tax planning matters, including EMI, EIS, ATED and HMRC enquiries.
• Provide technical advice on complex tax affairs for directors, shareholders and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Act as a senior technical resource for colleagues across the firm.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted adviser.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team.
• Collaborate with partners on advisory projects and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to business development and identify opportunities to expand client services.

Required profile

• CTA qualified, or ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified with significant UK tax expertise.
• Strong mixed‑tax background gained within a professional practice environment.
• Proven experience advising owner‑managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
• Technically strong across both personal and corporate tax matters.
• Confident in managing client relationships and delivering advisory‑led work.
• Experience reviewing work, mentoring team members and supporting staff development.
• Commercially aware with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
