Teacher of Drama (0.9 FTE)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Teacher of Drama to join an outstanding school in Surrey on a 0.9 FTE basis, working 9 out of 10 days across a two‑week timetable. You will teach students from Year 7 to A‑Level, delivering curriculum‑aligned drama lessons and supporting a vibrant extracurricular programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver drama lessons for Year 7‑8 (2 hours every two weeks), Year 9 (3 hours), GCSE (5 hours) and A‑Level (9 hours) cohorts.
• Follow the Edexcel drama syllabus and prepare students for examinations.
• Lead and supervise drama clubs, sixth‑form groups and school productions.
• Utilise the purpose‑built Creative Arts block, including rehearsal studios and the flexible studio theatre.
• Collaborate with four specialist drama teachers and contribute to departmental development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching drama at secondary level.
• Ability to work within a two‑week timetable and manage extracurricular activities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Operation of stage lighting grids.
• Use of sound equipment for rehearsals and productions.
• Familiarity with rehearsal studio facilities, including mirrored rooms.
• Knowledge of the Edexcel drama curriculum.
