Teacher of Food Technology

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking a passionate Teacher of Food Technology to join a thriving Design and Technology department in Bradford. This permanent, full‑time role starts in September 2026 and involves delivering engaging Food Technology and Nutrition lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach practical and theoretical Food Technology and Nutrition curriculum aligned with GCSE requirements.
• Manage a modern, well‑stocked kitchen environment, ensuring health, safety and food hygiene standards.
• Inspire students to develop culinary skills, an appreciation for healthy eating and food safety.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback and support achievement targets.
• Collaborate with the wider Design and Technology team to integrate cross‑curricular projects.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent UK teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one) and up‑to‑date safeguarding training.
• Legal entitlement to work full‑time in the UK.

Required skills

• Advanced food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
• Strong knowledge of nutritional science and dietary requirements.
• Effective classroom management to maintain a calm, safe, and orderly practical environment.
