Teacher of Humanities (History/Geography) with English

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with a respected independent school in Lewisham to recruit an enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities who can also deliver English. The role is permanent, covering Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History and/or Geography alongside English.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Contribute to pastoral care and the wider life of the school.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop a broad, interdisciplinary curriculum.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Proven experience teaching History and/or Geography and English at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for fostering critical thinking.
• High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Required skills
