About the role
We are seeking a passionate Religious Education (RE) teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Thanet area. The role involves delivering engaging RE lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to explore beliefs, values and ethical issues.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality RE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Foster critical thinking, discussion and respect for diverse world‑views.
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
- Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum and departmental resources.
- Create a safe, inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
- Promote SMSC development across the curriculum.
- Participate in whole‑school activities, assemblies and enrichment opportunities.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote student wellbeing.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for RE.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and high teaching standards.
