About the role

Hays Education is partnering with secondary schools across Wigan and surrounding areas to recruit qualified teachers for the September 2026 academic year. Positions are available in Maths, Science, English, Art and Modern Foreign Languages and include supply, short‑term, long‑term and permanent contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons for secondary‑school students.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain effective classroom discipline and behaviour management.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school initiatives.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching the specialist subject in a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Passion for helping students achieve their potential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
